Dobrowolski and Vogel receive Libraries’ Distinguished Service Award

The Syracuse University Libraries Assembly is pleased to announce this year’s Distinguished Service Award recipients: Nicolette A. Dobrowolski, Head of Public Services and Reference Librarian for the Special Collections Research Center, and Bill Vogel, Library Technician in Access and Resource Sharing. This award recognizes service to SU Libraries and the Syracuse University community.

Nicolette’s numerous and excellent contributions to the Special Collections Research Center and her support of teaching and scholarship at Syracuse University were noted in her nomination. Nicolette carries out a wide range of responsibilities and, as one nomination stated, “…she consistently demonstrates the highest quality of service….”

Bill is described in his letters of nomination as an “exemplary employee” with “…unwavering dedication to service…” who consistently exemplifies “…care, patience and good humor.”

Recipients of this award are nominated by Libraries’ employees, and selected by an awards panel. Members of the panel for 2014 were Shannon Pritting (chair), Tasha Cooper, Patrick Midtlyng, Sophie Rondeau, and Stephen Singer.

The awards will be presented at the Syracuse University Libraries Holiday Party & Recognition Event on Friday, December 12. In addition to receiving a gift and a certificate, Nicolette and Bill’s names will be engraved on a plaque that hangs in the first floor of Bird Library.
