Wednesday, October 24, 2012 is the second annual nationally recognized Food Day, a celebration and a movement for healthy, affordable, and sustainable food.
Created by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, and powered by a diverse coalition of food movement leaders, organizations, and people from all walks of life, the aim of Food Day is to raise awareness of issues relating to obesity and other food-related health conditions, supporting sustainable farming, and making real food available to everyone, as well as pushing for healthy affordable food produced in a sustainable, humane way.
Food Day’s priorities are:

- Support sustainable and organic farms
- Reduce hunger
- Reform factory farms to protect the environment
