“Handweavers: Finding Threads” exhibition in Library Biblio Gallery

Works by students in Sarah Saulson’s Intermediate Weaving class are on display in the Library’s Biblio Gallery, located on the 4th floor of Bird Library. An artists’ reception will be held on Friday, April 16 at 5:30 p.m.
Student artists represented are Monica Antone-Watson, Elena Brubaker, Joo Young Ha, Ashley Hallenbeck, Elin Sandberg, Nancy Wallmeyer, Ava Weiskopf, and Asli Whitham. Each artist used the same ancient weaving technique, Doubleweave Pick Up, but embedded a distinctive image and story within her work. Joo Young Ha, one of the participating artists, writes, “Weaving is really labor intensive work, but it produces beautiful and valuable artwork.”
The display will continue through April 28th. For more information on the Biblio Gallery, contact Ann Skiold at 443-3539 or saskiold@syr.edu.
