Nicolette A. Dobrowolski appointed Assistant Director of Collections and Access Services for Special CollectionsAugust 2nd, 2016 by Julie Sharkey
Libraries’ Dean David Seaman announced on July 28 the appointment of Nicolette A. Dobrowolski as Assistant Director of Collections and Access Services for the Special Collections Research Center (SCRC). In this new and expanded role, Dobrowolski will lead the department’s strategic plans to assess and continuously improve management of the collections held in the SCRC, Belfer Audio Archive, and University Archives.
By providing key oversight for thousands of linear feet of unique and rare materials and ensuring that those treasures will be preserved in the state-of-the-art addition to the Syracuse University Libraries Facility announced last week, this position aligns with Libraries’ strategic goal to enable learning, scholarship, and the creation of new knowledge through our rich collections.
Dobrowolski has worked for the SU Libraries for over 11 years, during which time she has been awarded the Distinguished Service Award, garnered RBS and ACRL-RBMS scholarships, and has collaborated on a variety of important library and university projects, ranging from instructional programming and exhibitions to implementing increased security standards and reference services for special collections.
