Peggy Solic (Acquisitions Editor, Syracuse University Press)

Turning your dissertation into a book and finding someone to publish it can seem like an overwhelming task! In this session we’ll take a collective deep breath and talk about how to tackle revising your dissertation into a manuscript, finding the right press for your work, and how to approach an acquisitions editor. 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

You’ve found a publisher and your book manuscript has been accepted for peer review. But what happens next? Solic will walk you through what to expect throughout peer review, to contracting, copy editing, production, and marketing your book. 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

This is a two-part (morning/afternoon) series with a break between noon and 1 p.m. Both sessions are open to any interested faculty, staff, and graduate students, with particular focus on the humanities.
